Important information

Disclaimer and modelling limitations

Please read this before relying on a Pension Planner result.

Pension Planner is designed as a what-if modelling tool, not a regulated financial-advice service. Its outputs may compare scenarios or illustrate possible funding routes, but they are not a statement that a particular pension, investment, withdrawal, transfer, crystallisation or tax action is suitable for you.

You make the decisions

Pension Planner uses the information and assumptions entered by the user to calculate scenario outputs. It does not assess all of the facts an authorised financial adviser or tax professional may need to consider, and it does not know every rule, guarantee, charge, restriction or protection that may apply to a particular pension or investment.

Do not treat a modelled withdrawal route, tax comparison, sustainable-spending figure, crystallisation result or other output as a personalised recommendation. For a material financial decision, check the relevant provider information and current rules and consider appropriate regulated financial or tax advice.

No forecast is a promise

Investment returns, inflation, longevity, spending, tax law and pension rules are uncertain. A deterministic or Monte Carlo result describes outcomes generated by the assumptions entered into the model. A modelled “success” percentage is a result from simulated paths, not a guarantee, prediction or known real-world probability.

Tax and pension modelling is simplified

Pension Planner models selected UK retirement-tax and pension concepts for planning purposes. It is not a tax-return calculator and does not reproduce every HMRC rule, relief, election, transitional protection, provider-specific treatment or future policy change. Tax treatment depends on individual circumstances and can change.

The GIA calculation is an annual planning approximation rather than a full transaction-by-transaction tax-return engine.

Particular pension and investment terms still matter

Provider quotations and scheme documentation should take precedence over a planning estimate where they differ. Before acting, check matters such as pension access terms, guarantees, safeguarded benefits, early-retirement factors, charges, tax-free cash, withdrawal restrictions and any protections that apply to the actual arrangement.

No transactions, custody or product selection

Pension Planner does not hold money, execute trades, transfer pensions, arrange investments or connect to a provider to carry out a financial transaction. It is intended to help users explore the effect of assumptions and possible choices in a model.

Use appropriate professional advice for material decisions

Consider regulated financial advice where a decision could materially affect retirement security or involve a particular pension or investment. Consider professional tax advice where the correct treatment is important or your circumstances are complex.

Reasonable care and legal rights

Pension Planner is provided as a planning aid. While care is taken in developing and testing the model, no guarantee is given that every input, rule, calculation or output will be complete, error-free or appropriate for every circumstance. Nothing in this disclaimer excludes any right or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
